1/24/09 Romans 16
As I was reading through Romans 16, one verse came out to be very interesting. 17 - I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. Paul is basically saying that no matter how strong your faith is, you are very likely to fall if you contact with concepts that are contrary to the word of God. Paul isn't referring to only certain portion of the people, therefore Paul is portraying that it is possible for everyone to fall. After reading this passage, I realized that how easily we are distracted by all of the things around us. We tend to believe we are strong enough to withstand all the temptation. However, as believers we often see people drifting away because they couldn't withstand the temptations. How can we believe that we are strong enough to withstand the temptation when bible told us to be careful because we are very likely to fall? I believe we should be very careful about the distractions around us.
